MAPS® Services For Policing
At MAPS® we have in-house former senior police officers who oversee our services to police forces; we regularly work with several police forces across the UK.
MAPS® ensures the appropriate screening of those resources saving police overheads with cost-effective operations delivered by our experienced former police officers.
These services are delivered against specific timescales and performance indicators which can provide short to long-term support when required.
Our resources focus on four main areas of support:
-
Fraud Investigation
MAPS® has particular expertise in fraud investigation. Within our wider team we have insolvency specialists and civil litigation lawyers, working with former economic crime police officers. We are well placed to assess potential fraud investigations for the best route to success for the victim. This may be using insolvency procedures (in commercial cases) and civil litigation – all investigations are conducted to a level of criminal standards that comply with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
-
Criminal Investigation
MAPS® has a national network of former UK police officers who have a lifetime of experience in criminal investigation. They have worked on major crime, fraud and financial investigations, organised crime, intelligence and source handling, and surveillance.
-
Data Recovery
In undertaking any investigation the correct recovery of evidence is of paramount importance. At MAPS® we can provide services to recover that evidence/data securely and in line with National Police Chiefs’ Council and CPIA requirements. Whether the evidence is in hard copy or soft copy on servers, PCs, laptops, mobile devices etc., we have the skills and resources to recover it safely for the investigation to proceed.
-
Dog handling services
MAPS® has access to dog handlers with SIA-licences, mostly former police and military qualified, with the full remit for general purpose (GP), explosives (EXPO), drugs and cash detection. These resources can be sourced to provide targeted use at pre-planned events or crime initiatives.
